Dr. Joseph Thornton Keesee II

Dr. Joseph Thornton Keesee II departed this life March 4, 2010, after a decline in health of more than twenty years. He was born at Clarksville, Tennessee, a son of Joseph Thornton Keesee and Cora Lee McGowan Keesee, whom preceded him in death. He received his diploma from Burt High School at Clarksville, Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor and Master of Science from Tennessee State University. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi. He served in the United States Army. He was married to Miss E. Eggleston. To this union, Quixotes T. Keesee and Jocelyn T. Keesee were born. He was a principal and assistant superintendent in Rosedale, Mississippi and earned a Doctor of Education from the University of Illinois. Dr. Keesee was member of the following honor societies: Thi Gama Iota, Phi Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi and the University of Illinois Alumni Association. He was employed by Kankakee School District 111 from which he retired. He enjoyed his family and his leisurely rides.
In passing he leaves to mourn, his wife, Mrs. E.E. Keesee; two children, Quixotes T. Keesee of California, Jocelyn T. Keesee of Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Altheia P. Keesee of California; three grandchildren, Quixotes T. Keesee of California, Quianna D. Keesee of California, Quian T. Keesee of California; a sister, Josephine Carrie Gregory of Tennessee; four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Louis Julian Keesee.
