Mr. James Ivory Autman
August 02, 1946 - February 23, 2012
James Ivory Autman was born August 2, 1946 in Vance, Mississippi to Harrison Sr. and Jessie Ray Autman. He confessed his Hope in Christ at an early age in Mississippi. He was formally educated in this area attending Pembroke Consolidated Schools and St. Anne High School.
James was an employee of the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad working as a trackman for many years. Being raised on a farm, he had a love for horses and loved to ride. He was active in the Rodeo arena. James loved watching cowboy movies on television and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
James I. Autman departed this life on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Provena St. Mary’s Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 33 years, the former Maurline Pankey whom he married April 20, 1978 in Kankakee; daughters, Tomora Edward-Moss of North Carolina, Shericka Teague of Minnesota, Sheamana Teague & Sherria Teague of TN, Jakesha Autman & Jatorri Autman of Kankakee; step-son, Nathan (Kathleen) Wright, of Bourbonnais; sisters, Georgia Marshall of MI, Lola Lindsey of GA, Willa Autman & Lillie Autman of Pembroke, Linda (Marvin)Autman-Holden of Charleston, IL, Sheral Autman of Kankakee, Sherrie Autman of TN & Mildred (Sam) Simmons of Rockford; brothers, Harrison, Jr. (Debbie) Autman &Monroe Autman both of Kankakee, George (Patricia) Autman & Anthony Autman both of Pembroke & Jessier (Gloria) Autman of Otto; brothers-in-law, Alphonse Dukes, Richard (lucille) Pankey, David (Lanise) Crips all of Kankakee & Walter Jones of TN; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Autman, Verenice Autman & Dorinda Dukes all of Kankakee; an uncle, Ivory Pitts of Pembroke; mother-in-law, Pauline Dukes of Kankakee; thirty-one grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Timothy Edward-Moss; brother, Elbe Autman; niece, Crystal Lynn Autman; nephew, Derrick Autman & brother-in-law, Tommy Lindsey.
Funeral Information
A gathering for family friends will be on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 2 p.m until the 3 p.m. funeral services at the St. Anne Woods Community Chapel in St. Anne, IL. Evangelist Carolyn Butler will officiate.
